For this purpose, the IfTI is bringing more than 30 high-ranking speakers and experts from politics, business and science to the Ortenau region. Among others, the Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia, State Secretaries from Spain and Germany and representatives of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva as well as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris will be present. In addition, there are numerous participants from international development banks as well as companies such as Siemens and Deutsche Bank. They will present approaches to address current challenges in innovation, trade and economic development, present case studies and discuss ways to secure jobs in times of corona and global political uncertainty. Key topics include the development of financing instruments for more innovation, the convergence of development and trade finance, and infrastructure finance in Africa. "Especially in times of crisis, it is essential to understand the importance of innovation and foreign trade and to take new paths in the process," says the head of the IfTI, Prof. Dr. Andreas Klasen.

At the Institute for Trade and Innovation (IfTI) at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, scientists from Germany and abroad conduct research in areas including innovation promotion, trade policy and export financing.
