Following SERV’s publication of its Annual Report, SERV has just published the results of a comprehensive study on the export and employment effects it generates in Switzerland. In essence, the study – which was conducted by the Institute for Trade and Innovation (IfTI) at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences – shows that SERV compensates for export and financing risks on a large scale, thereby creating and maintaining up to 21,000 jobs in Switzerland and enabling additional exports, particularly to regions with high country risk. In 2018, for example, SERV helped to create more than CHF 2.5 billion in additional Swiss exports.

Erdal Yalcin is Professor of International Economics at Konstanz University of Applied Sciences and a research-oriented policy advisor for international institutions.
