This special issue is related to the Global Symposium of the Institute for Trade and Innovation (IfTI) at the University of St.Gallen (HSG) in September 2024, will be published at the beginning of 2025 and has two main objectives: To focus on public interventions in developing countries related to export promotion in times of geopolitical tensions, multipolarity and fragmentation through systematic and comparative analyses. In addition, the theory of the circular relationship between trade, innovation and climate policy and the institutional environment will be further developed.
Institute member Simone Krummaker and director Andreas Klasen invite trade and political scientists to analyse these pressing issues with a focus on developing countries. Studies applying qualitative, quantitative or mixed methods, new empirical data and/or conceptual/theoretical developments are welcome.
