Trade disputes, punitive tariffs and an increasingly multipolar world - these and other challenges for the global economy were discussed intensively last week at the last event in this semester's FORUM lecture series at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences. In addition to Mathias Bärtl and Andreas Klasen, five other professors at the Institute for Trade and Innovation (IfTI) at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences deal with highly topical issues in the areas of trade policy and finance, innovation policy and business development. In addition, the IfTI has four international fellows and four PhD students.

Following the founding of the institute in 2017, there have already been various publications from among its members, for example a chapter on trade policy in the book "Beyond Gridlock" edited by Professor Thomas Hale (Oxford) and Professor David Held (Durham). The institute also devotes itself to numerous externally funded projects on issues of innovation policy and state export financing.
