In his presentation, the Scientific Director of the Institute for Trade and Innovation (IfTI) presented approaches to how public support for innovation can be organised and which instruments are available for this purpose. Other focal points were innovative approaches in foreign trade promotion in the context of the so-called Strategic Eco (n) system for innovative export companies. One of the topics discussed was why this holistic approach to state funding activities is being successfully implemented in the Nordic countries.

The Swiss Smart Government Day was conceived by the University of St. Gallen as an event for smart administration. The conference brought together decision-makers from government, politics, business and academia. Topics such as agile management, innovative financing models, citizen-centred services, cybersecurity and trust in artificial intelligence hit the nerve of the time.
